A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The negative aspect of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited bulk email messages, but this problem can be fixed using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also important to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you have a hosting service with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all option for a particular email mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it’ll take literally only one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have created under any domain name registered in your account. You can select one address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all email messages sent to mistyped addresses will be received there. Clicking the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notification and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all feature can be activated without difficulty if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domain names hosted in the account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will see a small symbol handily located directly next to each one. With just a single click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this feature through the contextual menu that will show up. In case any of the requirements for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will notify you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
